Enable Automatic App Updates

Edited

Enabling automatic updates is highly recommended to ensure your device(s) are always on the latest version of the trainwell app.

Not updating to the latest version can cause a poor app experience, especially if the phone and watch (if applicable) are not on the same app version.

iPhone and Apple Watch (See below for Android devices):

On your iPhone

  • Go to the Settings app.

  • Tap on the Apps button.

    • This new section groups all app-related settings, including the App Store.

  • Inside the Apps section, tap App Store.

  • Under the "Automatic Downloads" section, find App Updates.

  • Toggle the switch for App Updates to the On (green) position.

  • Apps downloaded from the App Store on your iPhone will now update automatically when an update is available (usually when the phone is connected to Wi-Fi and power).

On your Apple Watch:

  • Go to Settings > App Store.

  • Turn on or turn off Automatic Updates.

    • You can also open the Watch app on your iPhone, scroll to App Store and tap it, then turn on or turn off Automatic Updates.

Android phones and Wear OS watches (See above for iOS devices):

On your Android phone

  • Open the Google Play Store app

  • Tap your Profile icon in the upper right

  • Tap Settings and then select Network preferences

  • Tap Auto-update apps

    • We recommend setting to "Update over Wi-Fi only"

    • Please note if an update becomes available when you do not have access to a Wi-Fi network, you will not be on the latest version of the app and may encounter issues should you start a workout without being on the latest app version

On your Wear OS watch:

  • Open Google Play Store

  • Scroll down to select Settings

  • Toggle on Auto-update apps
