Capture a Screen Recording (Android)
Follow the steps below to capture a screen recording on your Android device. Please note, the process may vary slightly depending on the version of Android or the specific phone model you’re using, but these instructions will cover the general method.
For Android version 11 and later (with built-in screen recording option):
Access Quick Settings by swiping down from the top of your screen to open the Quick Settings panel
Swipe down again to expand the Quick Settings menu if needed
Tap the screen recording icon
A prompt will appear asking if you want to record audio and show touches on the screen (optional)
Tap Start recording
Once the recording has started a quick menu will appear, allowing you to pause or stop the recording at any time. Alternatively you can swipe down again from the top and tap the Stop button in the notification panel
The screen recording will automatically save to your Photos app
Android 10 and older (without built-in option):
Download and Install a screen recording app
Open the Google Play Store
Search for “screen recorder”
Select and install a screen recorder app like Screen Recorder -XRecorder or other
Follow the instructions in the app to set up recording preferences and to start a recording
