Health Connect Not Syncing Data
If Health Connect is not syncing data into trainwell, permissions may not be enabled properly across each app. Follow the steps below to verify if trainwell has read and write permissions through Health Connect.
What does "read" and "write" mean as it relates to data sharing and syncing?
Write: If you allow trainwell to write data to Health Connect, Health Connect will create entries for the days that you’ve completed a trainwell workout.
Third-party apps like Samsung Health can then read that data from Health Connect
Read: If you allow trainwell to read data from Health Connect, trainwell will fetch the last 7 days of activity from Health Connect each time you open the trainwell app.
Health data and activity from third-party apps like Samsung Health will then be synced into the trainwell app.
For example, if you complete an external workout (non-trainwell activity) through a compatible third-party app and read/write permissions are enabled, that data will be read by Health Connect and then sync into the trainwell app, becoming visible on the day it was completed on your weekly calendar view.
You can then tap on that activity to view the duration, calories, distance, and heart rate data for that activity. This activity is also shared with the trainer, and it will be visible in the chat with your trainer as well.
Steps to verify read and write access in Health Connect:
On your Android device, open Health Connect
Alternatively, you can access Health Connect from the trainwell app by tapping Menu icon > Account > Health Connect > Manage permissions
